Summer Internship Program

FIRE offers a 10-week, paid summer internship that gives current undergraduates the opportunity to assist ݮƵAPP in defending civil liberties on college campuses across the country.

Legal Clerkship

Clerks work with ݮƵAPP attorneys part-time during the academic year conducting legal research in emerging areas of law, developing arguments for active cases, reviewing university policies and legislative proposals, and more!

ݮƵAPP’s Internship Program gave me the opportunity not only to learn more about the First Amendment and its role on college and university campuses but it also allowed me to grow professionally, preparing me for future work experiences.

An Eye-Opening Experience

Summer Internship

In 2019,  Kenyon College student Elizabeth Stanley joined ݮƵAPP as a summer intern, and after graduating in 2021 she joined ݮƵAPP as a program associate.

I would definitely recommend this internship to any student who is passionate about First Amendment rights on campuses and is looking for a summer experience which will encourage and challenge them to grow as an individual and as a productive member of a professional staff," said Elizabeth.
