Armada, Michigan: Ordinance limits display period, number, size, and height of yard signs

Cases

Case Overview

The village of Armada, Michigan, places numerous restrictions on yard signs. Specifically, Armada restricts residents from displaying signs for more than 45 days a year, limits the number of signs that may be displayed, prohibits signs from being more than six square feet in area, and bans signs from rising more than three feet off the ground.

On September 23, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵAPP¹ÙÍø wrote to the village council outlining the constitutional problems with the sign ordinance. After receiving no response, we sent a followup letter on October 24.
